Content is a general term encompassing many different things such as images, movies, streaming video, and erotic stories. The whole purpose of content is to entice people to visit your sponsor's site (or your site if you run a pay site).

Usually people think of images when they discuss content. Images still compose the bulk of the content out there, but as broadband Internet access becomes more common other areas such as streaming video and movie clips will increase in popularity.
