TGP2 - Why Not?
Written by CF - Adult Biz Resource Webmaster
I was compelled to write this article after reading
through some "anti-TGP2" posts on the message boards.
Most of the sentiment towards TGP2 seems to be positive, but
there are some webmasters doubting its success and even “declaring
war on it”. Why?
Why buy the cow when you can get the milk
for free?
There is too much porn on the Internet that can
be had for free. Just for one moment, take off your webmaster
hat, and picture yourself as a surfer who has just found the
gold mine of free porn on the Internet. Now imagine your friend
just signed up with a pay site, and is paying for his porn.
If I was a new surfer and didn’t understand how the adult Internet
works, do you know what I would do? I would laugh my ass off
at him, telling him he is the dumbest person in the entire world.
As an adult webmaster, I realize why he would want to use a
pay site - Quality. Unfortunately many of today’s surfers don’t
realize that porn is not free. It costs money to produce it,
and money to supply it. We need to get away from the “free porn”
mentality. Here’s the way it should be. “We have a few nice
samples of what you can get at XYZ Pay Site.” Sounds a lot like
TGP2 to me!
Why should I change my ways?
Something needs to change. It might not be broken
yet, but it sure doesn’t run as smooth as it used to. Something
needs to happen to turn things around. Maybe it’s not TGP2,
maybe it is. Do the people condemning TGP2 really believe that
the current system in place is the best it will ever be? There
is always room for improvement, regardless of the industry.
Things have changed a lot in the short history of the adult
web. How many people think that they can still earn a living
ten years from now with the current system? Change is inevitable.
Why are some people so negative
about TGP2?
People are always suspicious of new ideas. They
like to stay with the familiar, the comfortable. Well, if TGP2
doesn’t work out, at least somebody tried to make a difference.
At least somebody tried to do something about falling conversion
ratios, an overabundance of free porn, and spoiled surfers used
to getting it all for free. Instead of ridiculing or discouraging
these webmasters, they should be commended to have the courage
to blaze their own trail.
I leave you with this quote that I think sums
up the TGP2 movement pretty well.
“The greatest thing in this world is not so
much where you stand. It’s what direction you are moving in.”
So I ask you now, Why not?
